A website specialising in buying property in overseas countries says Australia is the most popular country in its books, driven by strong demand from British buyers and possibly a few voyuers.

Searches for property in Australia climbed even higher during June prompting TheMoveChannel.com to publish the top five most searched for Australian destinations.

Perth continues to be popular among our British friends. The city accounted for one-third of all searches in Australia on the website as British departees long for a sea-change.

It was followed by Sydney, accounting for 28% of the Australian searches.

Melbourne was next, taking in 20% of searches, followed by Adelaide and Brisbane.
