Hoppers Crossing and Tarneit leads Victorian top 10 FHB grant application locations

Melbourne postcode 3029 comprising the outlying south-westerly suburbs of Hoppers Crossing and Tarneit received the highest number of applications for the soon-to-be-cancelled $7,000 first-home owner grant over the nine months to March 2013, the Victorian government’s state revenue office has revealed.

The figures come as the Victorian Government announced plans to scrap the $7,000 first-home owner grant on June 30 for existing homes and apartments, replacing it with a $10,000 grant for new homes and apartments only.

These are the Top 10 postcodes for applications the $7,000  first-home owner grant for the nine months from July 1 2012 to March 31 2013:
