Westpac bank rollout beats others in big four, with 1,270 branches nationwide
Westpac is the standout big four bank, having increased its branch coverage across Australia over the past 12 years.
According to the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA), Westpac has 1,270 branches nationwide, making it the largest bank network in the nation.
Despite other banks extending their branch networks, ANZ has closed 16 branches in the past year, dropping from 827 branches to 794. Queensland and Victoria were the two states to feel the loss, with Victoria losing 13 branches and Queensland losing 10.
