The Victorian Liberal Party is selling its Melbourne CBD headquarters.
There's $30 million plus hopes for the six-level, blue-chip building on Exhibition Street.
It is being sold by the cash-strapped Liberals who took out a $2 million mortgage against the building after their jailed, former state director Damien Mantach stole $1.5 million from the party.
The rentals within the building were earning $1.3 million in rent in 2018 compared to $810,000 in 2016.
Known as Centenary Hall and built in 1935, the six-level 104 Exhibition Street building was acquired at auction by Vapold Pty Ltd, a Liberal Party vehicle, for $576,000 in 1976.
The circumstances of the party's purchase led to an inquiry after it was sold by the Hamer Liberal Government.
The inquiry cleared the Liberal Party and the Government of any impropriety.
The building has 2,550 square metres of space.
The Liberal Party occupies a whole floor in the building while level four has been home to the famed Tolarno Galleries, founded by George and Mirka Mora in the 1960s.
