Porky Beach Retreat, a King Island getaway off the coast of Tasmania, has been listed for sale with $2.5 million hopes.

It sits on the west coast of King Island, on the Bass Strait isle between Cape Otway and north-west Tasmania.

The property was bought four and a half years ago by Alexandra and Russell Quigley who moved from Queensland.

They completely changed the home, which was a holiday house when they bought it.

Now the four bedroom home features an outdoor sauna handcrafted with imported red cedar timber from Canada by local artist Anthony Fanning. It includes an Estonian-made firebox.

It's also the only beach house on the island with a full commercial kitchen.

Ruralco agent Garry Sutton has the listing in conjunction with Pride's Charlie Clemons.

Sutton said it's definitely the best coastal house on King Island and is likely to be bought by a mainland buyer.
