Still a nation of negative gearers: ATO puts investor numbers slightly up at 1.76 million

Some 1.76 million tax payer individuals had an interest in a rental property in the 2010–11 income year.

It represented a slight gain on the 2009-2010 tax year when it was at 1.7 million individuals.

Most have just the one investment property.
