ME Bank today dropped its three year fixed standard home loan interest rate by 0.10% to 4.59% per annum.

The comparison rate sits at 5.18% per annum.

"It’s the lowest three-year fixed standard home loan rate the bank has offered since it became a bank in 2001," the ME Bank CEO, Jamie McPhee said.

“We’re either at or very close to the bottom of the current interest rate cycle," he said adding his forecast that the next Reserve Bank rate change is likely to be an increase of 25 basis points in the first half of 2015.
