Looking at the figures in realestateview’s first home buyer report, here are the six numbers that stood out.

The report was a national survey of 1,086 people, of which 44.6% were first home buyers (and those reflected in the figures below).

50.7%

The percentage of first home buyers who have children.

Over a third

The proportion of those who have not bought because they think house prices are too high.

10.7%

The percentage of first home buyers under age 30.

1/10

The proportion of those questioning whether now is the right time to buy.

15.1%

First home buyers refusing to purchase as they can’t afford their ideal location.

76.8%

First home buyers believing that the market will deliver strong or moderate growth over the next five to 10 years.
