The retired Richmond forward Jake King has sold his five-bedroom house in Northcote.

The home at 82 Christmas St had also been expected to fetch $1.4 million, and after being passed in sold four days later for an undisclosed price.

King, who is a football commentator on Triple M, bought the 1950s home for $745,000 in 2008.

It has been renovated and extended with a designer kitchen. There's also an internal spa deck and an outdoor entertaining zone.
