A Port Lincoln, South Australia mortgagee home has been sold for $97,000.

The three bedroom, one bathroom house last sold for $173,000 in October 2004.

Shane Merchant of Kemp Real Estate marketed the listing.

Situated at 30 Matilda Street, the home was built in 1925.

Set on 1,012 square metres, the listing notes that the home would be ideal for those "looking for a project".

Originally listed for $129,000 in April 2019, after 130 days on market the asking price was down to $109,500.

In January 2004, the home sold for $150,000, also more than the latest sale.

The median price for a home in Port Lincoln is $296,500 according to CoreLogic.
