Old and new bathing boxes at Brighton sell

Two boxes on Brighton's Dendy beach sold last weekend.

One was newly built by the local council and the other dated back to early last century.

The newly built box 57a (pictured below) fetched $215,000 through hockingstuart after bidding from the neighbours.

Bathing box 67 (pictured below), which had been in the same family for almost six decades, sold for $190,000 through Hodges.

The record for a Dendy bathing box remains $260,000.
