Marketing continues on the newest Docklands development, which is being described as Melbourne's new home of five-star living.

The project is the first Marriott to be built in Australia in 20 years.

Gone are the pre-conceived fittings of Marriott's of the past. The carpets and clunky furniture has been replaced by sleek designer inclusions and clean timber flooring.

The Waterfront Way development is wrapped in a translucent screen, with its curved glass facade providing views of the water and the city.

DKO Architecture are designing the building that will comprise 100 one to three-bedroom apartments above a rectangular hotel podium, which sprouts into two curved petal-shaped towers of 17 levels each.

There will be 200 rooms in total when it opens in 2020.

Crowning the project is a 28 metre wet edge resort-style rooftop infinity swimming pool and adjoining bar.

On the ground level there will be another bar, a restaurant and a laneway cafe.

Developed by Capital Alliance, Marriott Docklands is part of the $250 million mixed-use The Docklands project.

Castran Gilbert South Yarra agent Mark Forytarz is handling the marketing.
