An apartment in KINGSVILLE that sold for $228,000 was Melbourne's most affordable property sold at auction on the weekend.

The one bedroom, one bathroom modern apartment at 9/73 Kingsville Street features a renovated kitchen, a master bedroom with walk in wardrobes and a separate, updated bathroom.

The property also comes with a car space and is located close to cafe's and the natural Cruickshank Park.

Leigh Melbourne of Greg Hocking Elly Partners was the selling agent.

The property last traded for $165,000 in 2004 - up 2.77% annually over 11 years.
