Higham, the five bedroom Hawthorn East residence, was the weekend's highest auction sale.

It sold for $5.2 million through Ross Savas and Sam Wilkinson of Kay & Burton.

Last sold in 1988 for around $940,000, it is a gracious English-inspired solid brick two storey home on 1,450 square metres in Higham Road.

The road had two sales above $3.3 million last year.
