Manly's Dale Cherry-Evans has bought a house in Mermaid Beach, ending rumours he was set to back out of his $4 million deal with the Gold Coast Titans.

Harcourts Coastal sales agent Chez Fraser declined to comment on the buyer of the two storey Mermaid Beach property but the Gold Coast Bulletin revealed it was the halfback.

The property, set three blocks from the beach, is believed to have sold for $1.5 million.

His move to the Titans next year will mark a return to Queensland for Cherry-Evans, who was born in Redcliffe and spent his teenage years in Mackay.

No sign yet of any listing at Curl Curl or his Freshwater investment unit.

His Curl Curl house was only bought in April last year at $1,355,000.
