Developer Dyldam launched its South Quarter project – the former Auto Alley – on the weekend.

Some 100 of the 200 apartments sold.

The developer said it was pleased with the results, especially with the high 30 per cent rate of first home buyers and local interest.

The average sale price was $750,000.

The plans for the South Quarter of the Auto Alley, Church Street, were unveiled as a $876 million residential mixed-use project on the former Holden car yard on 57, 63 and 83 Church Street.

It is set to become the 1.4-hectare "South Quarter" precinct, with five residential and commercial buildings as well as an internationally branded hotel.

Dyldam confirmed there would be more than 750 apartments along with 40,000 square metres of retail and commercial space.

The buildings will range between 10 and 42 storeys, set around 450 metres from the Parramatta Rail and Bus Interchange.
