Melbourne clearance rates overtook Sydney last weekend for the first time for a while.

The REIV recorded Melbourne’s clearance rate at 82%, while Sydney fell just short of recording its seventh straight 80% result, with APM reporting a 79% auction clearance rate in Sydney.

They are both preliminary figures, so subject to review.

Melbourne’s result across the August 24 weekend compared to 74% last weekend and 57% this weekend last year.
