Did the weekend clearance rates represent a baton change with stronger results to be expected from Melbourne rather than Sydney over the spring selling season?

Property ObserverAugust 25, 2013

Melbourne clearance rates overtook Sydney last weekend for the first time for a while.

The REIV recorded Melbourne’s clearance rate at 82%, while Sydney fell just short of recording its seventh straight 80% result, with APM reporting a 79% auction clearance rate in Sydney.

They are both preliminary figures, so subject to review.

Melbourne’s result across the August 24 weekend compared to 74% last weekend and 57% this weekend last year.
