A brand new architect-designed Toorak home has been listed for sale by the mortgagee.

Paul Castran at Castran Gilbert South Yarra has a $2.7 million to $2.97 million guide for the May Road home.

The four bedroom, four bathroom home sits on 177 sqm after the block was subdivided, with an identical residence built next door.

That sold price undisclosed in October after asking $3.25 million.

The median house price in Toorak is $5 million, one of Melbourne’s most expensive suburbs.

Entry to the home is through a secure garden courtyard, which meets the open plan kitchen living and dining space, located at the front of the home to take advantage of the northerly aspect.

There’s a study space and gallery area on the ground floor, as well as a feature glass lift which runs to all three levels.

There’s a second living area at the rear of the home meeting another outdoor space and two car garage. Above the garage is a bedroom and  bathroom.

The lower level of the home has a bedroom and a home theatre. The top level homes the master suite, with its own bathroom, and the fourth bedroom.

The home, near Hawksburn Village, goes to auction December 12.
