Autumn auction listings step up again this weekend: RP Data

The capital city auction clearance rate was recorded at 62.6% last week, up from 58.7% over the Easter week.

Auction volumes rebounded from 547 the week prior to 1,280 last week. At the same time last year it was Easter, so auction volumes were low at 336 and the clearance rate was recorded at 42%.

There were 530 auctions held in Melbourne last week, up from 95 the week prior. Auction clearance rates were recorded at 63.5%, down from the exceptionally high clearance of 76.4% over the Easter week.

Across Sydney, there were 521 auctions held last week, up from 328 the week prior. Clearance rates in Sydney improved to 69.1% last week, up from 58.2% the week prior. Over the three weeks leading up to Easter, Sydney’s auction clearance rate was consistently above 67%.

Over the coming week, it is expected that a little under 1,300 auctions will be held across the capital city markets.
