Russell Island mortgagee sale priced as nation's cheapest

Only 45.1 percent of Brisbane homes sold at weekend auction including the nation's cheapest weekend result.
It was a $150,000 home at 14 Akebia Street, Russell Island which was sold under mortgagee instruction.
Russell Island is the biggest of the Southern Moreton Bay Islands, situated between the mainland and North Stradbroke Island.
The three bedroom home had been for sale earlier this year, marketed at $229,000 with $235 a week tenancy on offer.
The home last sold for $72,000 in 2002.
