After months of unsuccessful househunting, home buyers snapped up a Narre Warren South house in a tightly held pocket at weekend auction.

The Herald Sun reported the buyers were from Clayton.

There was a two-horse race for the five-bedroom house at 19-20 Sirius Place.

The parties pushed the price beyond the $1.32 million reserve to $1.36 million.

There were three others who had registered to bid for the 4262sq m property.

The selling agency Ray White Pakenham moved the auction forward by a week to capitalise on it.

There had only been two homes sold in the pocket in the past 20 years.

The house was built about 17 years ago at the location 40kms south-east of Melbourne’s CBD.

The five-bedroom, two-bathroom home at 19-20 Sirius Place, Narre Warren South had an indicative selling price of $1.2 million to $1.32 million.

“It’s a three-and-a-half minute drive from the second largest shopping centre in the southern hemisphere,” Ray White Pakenham’s Gavin Staindl said.
