A new nine storey, 79 apartment residential development on Wellington Street, Collingwood has been unveiled.

PACE Development Group’s Pace of Collingwood has been designed by SJB Architects with the aim of creating "new apartments with an old soul".

The marketing for the development at 75 Wellington Street, on the corner of Wellington and Langridge Streets, highlights the easy walkability of the area’s gentrification, particularly its bistros, local roaster cafes and wine bars with new award winning restaurants and eateries.

Beaudene Fulwood of SJB Associate Architect said the firm reflected on what makes Collingwood unique to the residents, the community and Melbourne at large.

“The finer detailed and grain of the bronze metal-clad upper levels of the building are a juxtaposition to the order and solidity of the podium,” said Fulwood.

“These levels angle away from the street forming a ‘mansard’ style roofline allowing more natural light and aspect into these apartments.

“Taking advantage of the setbacks of the building, an elevated ‘pocket park’ is proposed to increase the amenity for the building’s residents and provide valuable green space softening the composition of the building.”

Units at Pace of Collingwood will range from $482,000 for one bedrooms, up to $1,100,000 for three bedrooms, two bathrooms and two car parks.
