CBRE has sold 2 Mozart Street in St Kilda – a heritage building comprising six apartments in the coveted ‘Poet’s Corner’ precinct.

The recent auction attracted a crowd of more than 80 people.

There was an opening bid of $3 million before six buyers fought it out until the hammer fell at $4,755,000.

The property, which sits on a prominent 1163 square metre site, sold for a land rate of $4,088 per square metre.

Built in the 1870s, the property has been owned by one family since the 1970s.
