Sustainability conference slated for Kuala Lumpur

The eighth international conference on World Class Sustainable Cities 2016 will be held on 8 September 2016 at the Sime Darby Convention Centre, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. 

The conference is jointly organised by three partner organisation -  the Real Estate & Housing Developers’ Association Malaysia, the Malaysian Institute of Planners and the Malaysian Institute of Architects and will showcase international best practices in becoming a World Class Sustainable and Liveable City by the year 2020.  

The theme for this year is City Spaces, Public Places and will feature six speakers:  

1. Mr Mitchell J. Silver, Commissioner of Department of Parks & Recreation, New York City, U.S.A.; 

2. Ms Evlyn W.Y. Cheong, President of the Singapore Institute of Planners (SIP); 

3. Professor John Byrne, Principal, Byrne Urban Design, Brisbane, Australia / Adjunct Professor, Urban Design and Architecture, Queensland University of Technology, Australia;  

4. Ar Hj Mohd Nazam Md Kassim, Director, Focus Architects and Urban Planners Sdn Bhd, Malaysia; 

5. A representative from Sime Darby Property Berhad, Malaysia (TBC); and 

6. A representative of the Young People’s Lab (YPL) 2016, Malaysia (TBC).
