A vacant site with development potential at Footscray in Melbourne’s inner western suburbs is up for auction on June 23 with price expectations of more than $1 million.

The 116-120 Buckley Street property comprises a 521 square metre allotment, with 12 metres street frontage.

The property is zoned Activity Centre Zone (ACZ1), which encourages a mix of uses including intensive development focussing on business, apartments, shopping, leisure, transport and community facilities.

The site is being marketed by Teska Carson's George Takis.

"Footscray is one of the most rapidly growing suburbs in Metropolitan Melbourne, with the location currently subject to unprecedented levels of residential and commercial development.

Located five kilometres from Melbourne’s CBD, Footscray's population is expected to double over the next 20 years, driving continued commercial and residential development.
