Bondi Junction boarding house sold for $2.9 million
An original freestanding cottage, a registered boarding house, in Bondi Junction has sold for $2.9 million.
The 18 Waverley Crescent property with classic Victorian styling comes with redevelopment potential, subject to council approval.
The marketing showed no internal photos given its condition.
Built on a land area of 488 square metre, the cottage has timber flooring, ornate ceilings and a neglected rear yard.
The home is currently divided into four lettable apartments. It also has four vehicle lock-up garages.
The selling agent was Kevin Mendes of Laing & Simmons.
The house is a short walk from Bondi Junction, with plenty of shopping, dining and transport options.
Two private local investors snapped up separate boarding houses in Bondi Junction for $2.25 million each earlier this month, reinforcing the view that Sydney’s eastern suburbs are one of the city’s most sought-after investment areas for boarding houses.
