Templestowe tops Melbourne's weekend auctions

Melbourne had a clearance rate of 71% on the weekend compared to 64% last weekend.

It was 68% this time last year.

There were 1209 auctions reported to the REIV. 

The top sale was a five-bedroom, four-bathroom trophy home at 28 Serpells Road, Templestowe, which sold for $4.86 million, around $500,000 over reserve. 

The block cost $2.1 million in 2001.

A record $27 billion worth of residential property has been sold by auction in Victoria, so far this year - up 27% ($6 billion) on last year.
