The entrepreneurial Double Bay dental innovator David Penn and his wife, Linda, secured $1,452,500 when their Altair, Rushcutters Bay investment apartment sold last month.

Despite the Greg Natale decor styling, it was otherwise empty.

The only thing in all the cupboards in the 8th floor apartment were some Hut and Manor soy wax candles which LJ Hooker agent Dominic Kunerman lit during his open for inspections.

It was bought in 2012 for $1,025,000 in partnership with their son Joshua who was a no-show at the laboured onsite auction in the Engelen Moore-designed complex.

The 117 sqm Walker Corp apartment first sold in 1999 at $651,000.
