Author Ann James has sold Bellamy, her grand old Middle Park home for $5.2 million.

It has been for decades an artistic hub for many of Australia’s best known authors and illustrators as Ann James and partner Ann Haddon ran their business Books Illustrated at the 300 Beaconsfield Parade house.

James's artist mother Joan James purchased Bellamy in the mid-1980s for $206,000. It is an Edwardian era house with Victorian features as well.

Agent Michael Szulc from Cayzer Real Estate passed it in at a recent weekend auction, then sold on the following Monday.
