Brighton East tops Melbourne's September Super Saturday: REIV

There were 993 auctions reported to the REIV on the weekend, with 732 selling, reflecting a 73.7% success rate.

There were 261 passed in, 111 of those on a vendor bid.

The REIV was expecting about 1,200 auctions in 278 suburbs on the weekend.

The top auction locations were South Yarra (20 auctions), Reservoir (19 auctions) and Richmond (16 auctions).

There were 1050 auction on the prior weekend, when there was an initial 76% clearance rate.

A record 4,150 auctions have been held in September – up 39 per cent on the same time last year.

Next week, the REIV is expecting around 65 auctions due to the AFL Grand Final – the biggest event on Melbourne’s sporting calendar.
