Craig van der Laan, the chief of Barangaroo Delivery Authority, and his wife Liesl have had another big weekend. Their Lindfield home sold at McConnell Bourn auction last weekend.

The couple bought the five bedroom 1905 Federation residence in 2004 for $3 million. The home sits in extraordinary Peter Fudge French parterre gardens on its 1400 square metre Middle Harbour Road block.

They wanted more than $4.3 million when failed to sell at April auction and accepted $4,225,000 when knocked down by auctioneer Vic Larusso at weekend auction. There appeared to be the three interested parties, two locals and one Chinese couple who didn't get to bid.

Craig van der Laan, who was a long time member of the global executive leadership team of the Brambles Group, oversaw last month's opening of the headland park at Barangaroo Reserve.

The median house price for Lindfield is $1,930,00, according to CoreLogic RP Data.
