Wally Masur sells his 1920s Balgowlah Tudor Manor estate
The grand Balgowlah northern beaches trophy home of tennis great Wally Masur has been sold through Glen and Tim Wirth, of LJ Hooker Seaforth.
Lendalyn, a 1927 Tudor manor estate on Wanganella Street, had $3.95 million plus hopes.
Title Tattle gleans around $4 million was secured from local buyers. It was something akin to a five letter marketing campaign as it was initially listed with another agency in October last year. Agents were swapped in early May.
It has been restored by the champion player and his wife Susan since they paid $3,088,000 in 2010.
The landmark estate is a double block 1244 square metre holding with manicured English country style gardens.
He is is a tennis coach and television commentator, having achieved a career-high singles ranking of World No. 15 in October 1993.
Masur retired from the professional tour in 1995, having won three singles titles and 16 doubles titles. His career prize-money totalled $3 million plus.
Title Tattle noted the couple added a rear pool since the selling duo secured the 2010 sale.
Built in 1927 by Henry Timbs, a noted master builder, with leadlight windows, the home has long included its spectacular glass conservatory.
