1B Grong Grong Court, Toorak sold earlier this month after being on the market since late April.

Paul Ffeiffer and Anthony Grimwade at RT Edgar secured a sale price of $5,188,888 for the three storey trophy home.

"Hopefully bringing luck to the Chinese National Buyer," buyers agency James Buyers Advocates said.

It was marketed as French inspired elegance.

There's a lift from the basement with parking, gymnasium and 2,000 bottle wine cellar up to the top level with the four bedroom, four ensuite home.

The 600 square metre block cost $1.6 million in 2006 when bought by the Dimas family.
