Sydney's Abbotsford Montrose townhouses a hit with locals looking to upgrade

A Sydney inner west development known as Montrose, has sold six of its seven townhouses since launching three weeks ago.

Located on Great North Road in Abbotsford, four townhouses sold for $1.19 million to $1.45 million to young professionals and young families.

“The buyers have been young professionals with one or two children looking to upgrade into a quality development with low maintenance,” says Eddie Mansour of Ray White Projects.

“The purchasers have predominantly been locals,” Eddie Mansour told Property Observer.

Two of the properties are to be retained by the developer – The Montrose Property Group.

Property Observer gathers three of the four sales have been to locals.

Each three- and four-bedroom townhouse is approximately 175 square metres internally with an external area of 80 square metres. 

Designed by Lufi & Associates, the homes feature travertine floors and a mix of textures including render, sandstone and timber.

The kitchens boast Carrera marble, Quantum Quartz and Smeg appliances.

The last townhouse is listed from $1.4 million and is the largest with four bedrooms, two living areas and a plunge pool.

The townhouses are located close to Abbotsford Ferry Wharf, Abbotsford Village and Hen and Chicken Bay.

Montrose is scheduled for a mid 2014 completion.

The development is being marketed through Eddie Mansour and Kieron Stedman of Ray White Projects.

The median unit price in Abbotsford is $718,750, a 29.5% change in the last five years, according to RP Data.
