Sydney Olympic Park apartments make it more than sporting and entertainment precinct

The Sydney Olympic Park development is proving to be popular with the first building selling out and the other two buildings receiving strong interest.

Located on Australia Avenue and developed by Ecove and SOPA (Sydney Olympic Park Authority), the three towers will house 823 apartments in total.

Australia Towers was the first building to be completed in 2012 and features 216 sold out apartments.

ATII and One Australia Avenue are the final two buildings and are currently under construction.

ATII features 287 apartments across 25 levels and is more than 75% sold.

One Australia Avenue features 320 apartments across 30 levels and is currently 60% sold.

One Australia Avenue will stand 120 metres above sea level, making it the tallest residential building in the inner-west of Sydney.

Olympic Park is a new 640-hectare Sydney suburb about 15 kilometres west of Sydney CBD and became an official suburb in 2009. The locality was part of the suburb of Homebush Bay and was redeveloped for the 2000 Sydney Olympics.

“People appreciate the benefits of being in the sporting and entertainment heart of Sydney, with world-class facilities and cultural events at their fingertips, 430 hectares of parklands and 35 kilometres of bike tracks,” says David Chittenden general manager of Colliers International Residential.

ATII and One Australia Avenue will also boast a mix of 17 retail and commercial suites.

The towers are designed by Bates Smart and will feature an elliptical shape, inspired by the iconic geometry of the nearby stadia.

Around 14,000 people are forecast to be living at Sydney Olympic Park by 2030.

A range of apartments still available in One Australia Avenue include:

One-bedroom apartments ranging in size from 52 square metres to 65 square metres and ranging in price from $534,000 to $690,000.

Two-bedroom apartments ranging in size from 70 square metres to 95 square metres and ranging in price from $575,000 to $845,000.

Three-bedroom apartments ranging in size from 104 square metres to 135 square metres and ranging in price from $795,000 to $1,435,000.

Four-bedroom apartments ranging in size from 133 square metres to 166 square metres and ranging in price from $960,000 to $2.6 million.

Purchaser and successful businessman Lindsay Carrucan bought a three-bedroom apartment in the first building, Australia Towers, and has since bought a second apartment in One Australia Avenue.

“On weekends it can be really peaceful, but whenever there is a big concert or event someone in the building will hold a party where we’ll have something to eat and drink before walking to the stadium or the area,” says Carrucan.

Carrucan says his friends had arranged to stay with him during the State of Origin game.

“The influx of permanent residents has made it a complete suburb,” says Chittenden.

“There is now a real sense of community here, and the lifestyle just keeps getting better.”

ATII has a scheduled completion date of late 2014 and One Australia Avenue has an expected completion date of mid-2015.
