Unique Newton warehouse could crack $1.7m in Property Tycoon auction tipping

The auction of 1/21 Hampden Rd Armadale got off to a slow start and the property looked like it would be passed in at $950,000. But the rain failed to dampen the competition as four bidders finally declared their hand and the property sold for $1.21 million.

In Sydney there were no doubt a few Boags beers drunk last Saturday night as the family of the famous brewer sold the family home well in excess of the reserve. Prior to the auction the property was expected to sell for around $1.25 million but multiple bidders pushed the price to $1.415 million.

This week the downsizing baby boomers will be out in force when the perfect retirement property goes to auction. 1/15 Lisson Grove, Hawthorn has the all-important master bedroom with ensuite on the ground floor and comprises a further two bedrooms and double lock-up garage.

The property (pictured below) is expected to sell in excess of $900,000 but don’t be surprised if it well and truly goes over $1 million.

In Sydney, 87 Campbell Street, Newtown (pictured below) is a tricky one to put a price on. It is a unique property with very few comparable sales to help determine the value. The warehouse conversion has been designed to accommodate a separate business and residence.

Agent Michael Glynn from McGrath Real Estate is looking for buyers with more than $1.7 million to spend.
