Lend Lease’s timber development Forté in Docklands is gaining height at a rapid pace in the latest update to our photographic survey of the site.

Work on the project began four weeks ago, and the development is already taking form.

Unveiled in May, the building is due to be the world’s tallest wooden residential building.

It appears to have started on parts of its fourth storey. It was at level one when the first photos were taken. Four weeks later it’s now getting closer to its eventual height of 32 metres.

The $11 million building will be Australia’s first timber high-rise building. Set on an elevated concrete podium, the building will rise to 10 levels and will be built with prefabricated wooden panels made from cross-laminated timber and will feature 23 apartments.

Site work commenced in February with a targeted completion date of October – quicker than it takes to build some single-family houses.
