Richmond $80 million complex approved for development

Development has been approved for a $80 million mixed-use building in Richmond, on the fringe of Melbourne’s CBD.

Located at 2 Brighton Street and named The Richmond, the project is 10 storeys high and will encompass 78 apartments and a ground-floor retail tenancy.

The site comprises 1,300 square metres, and will features a mix of one, two, and three-bedroom apartments and penthouses.

Georgina Goldsworthy, the senior development manager at ICON Developments, who are delivering the project, says The Richmond ‘has a timeless design inspired by modernist principles and will enhance the surrounding streetscape through its simple grid format, raw materiality, use of greenery and café offering.’

Construction of the complex is set to commence early 2021.
