A new $83 million mixed-use development in Maroochydore has been given the green light.

Economic Development Queensland has ticked off on the proposed two residential towers and six Small Office-Home Office (SOHO) townhouse project.

The project will be on a 4158 square metre parcel of land in the new CBD.

There will be a total of 152 units across the two towers.

Habitat Development Group Managing Director Cleighton Clark said the SOHOs will offer a new style of office product in the Sunshine Coast market.

The number of small businesses on the Sunshine Coast has grown by 2.5% over 2018, ABS data indicates.

“The SOHOs have clearly hit the mark for this sector, providing a perfect combination of work and home in one property,” Clark said.

The SOHOs will have a non-residential space on the ground floor, which can be used for an office, shop, food and drink outlet or other kind of business.

Work is expected to start on the project in February 2020.
