Bushfire victims offered helping hand with home finance: ANZ

Property ObserverFebruary 9, 2014

A range of assistance measures have been put in place for those impacted by bushfires across Victoria who are ANZ customers.

ANZ is offering a number of assistance arrangements. These include reduced payments or suspending repayments on loans and credit cards for a period of time, considering applications for temporary adjustments to lending limits to assist with unexpected costs, the ability to access term deposits early without incurring penalty fees and the restructuring of finances or application for a new home or personal loan without incurring application fees.

Fees for businesses with damaged EFTPOS/credit card terminal replacements are also able to be waived.

ANZ managing director retail, Mark Hand, said that five years on from Black Saturday we’re being reminded that bushfires can be devastating.

“So far around 20 homes and properties are reported as being destroyed, with areas north east of Melbourne hardest hit over the weekend and fire still threatening property,” said Hand.

Customers can contact ANZ on 13 16 14, for ANZ Insurance, or 1800 149 549 for the hardship team.
