Nominations are open for the New South Wales and Australian Capital Territory urban development industry, so if you know a business who has excellence in property then it may just be time to suggest them.

This 20th year of awards from the Urban Development Institute of Australia (UDIA) NSW looks to showcase companies that push the boundaries in the categories of innovation, affordability, sustainability and premium-quality construction.

UDIA NSW chief executive Stephen Albin said thast last year projects such as Crown Group's Top Ryde City Living, and the Gowings and State Theatre Restoration took out awards.

“This year, judging by the quality of projects that are coming online in areas such as Western Sydney, Canberra, Newcastle and the Illawarra, we expect to attract an interesting and diverse range on candidates that showcase best-practice in their respective fields," he said.

Currently there are 13 categories open, including concept design, government leadership for urban development, design and innovation, masterplanned development, sustainable development and affordable development.

Developers, councils, government agencies, consultants, contractors and markets are encouraged to enter by March 14.
