Orchard Hills is a suburb of western Sydney, located in the state of New South Wales, Australia. It is situated approximately 25 kilometres west of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of the City of Blacktown. Orchard Hills is part of Greater Western Sydney and considered one of its fastest growing suburbs. The population was 2,846 at the 2016 census.
Orchard Hills was originally known as 'The Ponds' and served as a rural village until it was engulfed by suburban development in the 1970s and 1980s. The name 'Orchard Hills' was gazetted on 23 March 1984. Development in Orchard Hills has been rapid due to its proximity to other major centres such as Blacktown, Penrith and Windsor
