Neutral Bay is a suburb on Sydney's north shore, located approximately 5 kilometers north of the CBD. The area was first settled in 1821 and named after HMS Neutral Bay, an English naval vessel which moored in the bay for several weeks in 1813.
The suburb grew rapidly during the early 20th century as it became a popular destination for wealthy Sydneysiders seeking to escape the city's summer heat.
Today, Neutral Bay is a vibrant and eclectic mix of old and new, with buildings dating from the late 1800s to contemporary high-rise apartments. The suburb is home to a wide variety of businesses and restaurants, and is popular with locals and visitors alike.
