Kew East is a north-eastern suburb of Melbourne, located 8 kilometers from the CBD. The area was first settled in 1838 by William Ward, who built a homestead on the banks of the Yarra River.
Kew East grew rapidly in the post-war period as Melbourne expanded outward, and today it is a popular residential suburb with a population of over 10,000 people.
There are several parks and reserves in Kew East and the Yarra River also flows through the suburb, providing opportunities for fishing, kayaking, and canoeing.
Kew East is well connected to other parts of Melbourne via road (the Eastern Freeway) and trams (48), making it an ideal location for commuters.
