Beaconsfield is an inner suburb of Sydney. It is a affluent area, with many residents working in white collar professions. The suburb has a mix of Federation and Victorian homes, as well as some Art Deco buildings.
The first inhabitants of the area were Aboriginal people from the Dharug Nation. In 1838, John Palmer purchased land in the area and began to subdivide it for sale. The first house was built in Beaconsfield in 1853 by William Hutchinson.
Today, Beaconsfield is a popular place to live due to its close proximity to the city centre and its quiet streets. It is home to a number of restaurants, cafes and boutiques.
