Golden Age Group officially launches Sky Garden at The Glen
Urban.com.au in its former guise as Urban.com.au, initially reported on Golden Age Group launching a website for its $450 million Sky Garden project. The elevated residential development. to be constructed above the redeveloped The Glen Shopping Centre in Glen Waverley, has now been officially launched to the market.
The tri-tower project will feature an elevated 4,000 sqm “garden in the sky” that will serve the 555 apartments that will comprise Sky Garden, providing a community meeting place for residents.
Development of Sky Garden will coincide with Vicinity Centre’s $460 million redevelopment of The Glen, which will include 240 new shops and retailers. The first two stages of Vicinity Centre’s retail development, including a new fresh food market hall and casual dining ‘food gallery’ have already been completed, with further stages opening later this year through to an anticipated completion in early 2020.
The design team responsible for Sky Garden includes architects Rothelowman for exteriors, DKO Architecture for the interiors and ASPECT Studios for the extensive landscape design.
The project has been designed to appeal to a wide range of buyers and demographics, with layouts that cater to the needs of young families, downsizers, working professionals, owner-occupiers and the investor market.
According to Golden Age Group, the project represents one of the most innovative and ambitious development plans in the company’s history. The project follows on from the soon-to-be completed Victoria One in Melbourne's CBD and will headline a strong pipeline that also includes the Bates Smart-designed 85 Spring Street, opposite the Fitzroy Gardens.
The Sky Garden display suite will open in late July 2018 with the construction of all three towers expected to commence in by mid-2019 once a head contractor is appointed.
