Today a look at a handful of the latest and greatest apartment developments to crop up throughout Melbourne. The number of projects launching either by registrations of interest or full blown sales campaigns prior to the end of the year has been impressive, with more to follow into the new year.
Evident is the number of suburban apartment projects on offer; while Melbourne's CBD and surrounds claim the media spotlight, the suburban apartment movement has quietly picked up its pace as evidenced by the latest apartment projects below.
88 Doncaster Hill - 88 Tram Road, Doncaster
For so long an advocate of the apartment movement into Melbourne's suburbs, Doncaster Hill is starting to gain its fair share of apartment development. The latest is 88 Doncaster Hill, a seven level apartment complex of 1, 2 & 3 bedroom options with sweeping views over Melbourne.
The Wellington - 8 Wellington Road, Box Hill
The Wellington looks to be another Hayball architects design for Box Hill, following in the footsteps of their previous successes, 1 Archibald Street and Central Gardens. While The Wellington has yet to commence sales, its website is taking enquiries and the project is scheduled for completion during 2016.
Spectrum Apartments - 33 Harrow Street, Box Hill
Bringing some colour to Box Hill is Spectrum Apartments. Having recently gone to sales, the project adds to the already impressive list of apartment projects currently at sales or under construction through the suburb. A product of Kavellaris Urban Design, the complex will carry 71 apartments and has an estimated completion date of November 2015.
Arc Apartments - 81 Warrigal Road, Mentone
The apartment creep into Bayside suburbs continues with Arc Apartments. Holding 56 1 & 2 bedroom apartments Arc's display suite is due to open shortly and is another project to be delivered by the ever expanding Pace Development Group. With a history of developing Bayside apartment projects, Arc Apartments will continue the trend for Pace Development Group.
Oak Apartments - 7 Warrs Avenue, Preston
Preston is quietly going about its business of increased density via a steady stream of apartment projects. The latest addition is Oak Apartments with 38 1 & 2 bedroom apartments on offer, along with 4 penthouses. Just off High Street, the development is within walking distance to all things Preston.
Tapestry Apartments - 80 Stanley Street, Collingwood
Another of the Collingwood brigade, Tapestry Apartments intends to take its position amongst the existing and under construction apartment projects that already call Stanley Street home. Designed by SJB Architects, the development will offer 21 apartments over seven levels with maximum open space and natural light a consideration during the design phase; sure to please buyers no doubt.
41 Peel is yet another apartment project for Collingwood, this time put forward by Urban Development Partners. Small in stature the complex is designed by MAP Architecture and with only 15 apartments on offer, they seem destined to be snapped up quite quickly. With a rash of additional apartment projects such as the Yorkshire Brewery development and Small Giants' Oxford & Peel apartments nearby, 41 Peel will find itself in the thick of the action soon enough.
100 Park - 100 Park Street, South Melbourne
Developer 94 Feet has graduated to the next level with its 11 level 100 Park project. Positioned above Kings Way the development holds a central position, close to transport and amenity. The project website states the development has already achieved significant sales so prospective buyers best be quick!
Melbourne One - 612 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne
The unrelenting machine that is Central Equity is due to release another project, Melbourne One, for public sales shortly. Located behind the Reidy's heritage facade facing Lonsdale Street, the 47 level tower joins Upper West Side as Vanguard projects along what will eventually become a high rise, high density pocket of Melbourne surrounding Lonsdale Street and Spencer street.
Australia 108 - 70 Southbank Boulevard, Southbank
Somewhat presumptuous but this may be the revised design for Australia 108 on Southbank. With tenders this week calling for a hotel operator to fill part of the tower, the new anticipated completion date is 2017. The website is now again taking enquiries, one expects it won't be too long before further public information is revealed.
