Drift Residences - 16-18 Hughes Avenue, Main Beach

Following the administration of GCB Constructions, developer GDI Group has decided to bring construction in house to complete their luxury Main Beach apartment development, Drift Residences.

Drift Residences, at 16-18 Hughes Avenue, just a stroll from Tedder Avenue and the Main Beach sand, will have just 46 apartments across its 31 levels, a maximum of two apartments per floor.

Dean Gallagher, GDI Group Director, has assembled a top-tier line-up with a proven track record in the industry to deliver the rest of the building.

Construction is already well advanced on Drift, which is expected to be complete toward the end of 2024.

There's three different types of apartments in the Plus Architecture-designed tower. The Residence Collection, which occupy levels three to 23, have three bedrooms, three bathrooms, and 262 sqm of living space, and start from just under $3 million.

The penthouse collection is just a handful of full floor apartments with 531 sqm of living space. They have four bedrooms, four bathrooms, a media room, home office, and four car spaces.&nbsp;

Crowning the building is a two-level penthouse across levels 30 and 31, complete with five bedrooms, five bathrooms, five car garaging, an entertainment room, home office, and a plunge pool and spa.

Resident amenity is located toward the bottom end of the tower. There's a spa and health club with an&nbsp;infinity pool, hot and cold spas, an infrared sauna, and a steam room. The gymnasium features a yoga studio and private massage rooms.

GDI Group bring construction in house to deliver Drift Residences in Main Beach

The trend of lower density, high-rise towers continues to gather pace at the latest Gold Coast apartment tower launch.

GDI Group, headed by long-time Gold Coast developer Dean Gallagher, are soon to launch Drift Residences, a 27-level tower designed by Plus Architecture at 16-18 Hughes Avenue, near the central hub of Tedder Avenue in Main Beach.

There is approval for 44 apartments, but GDI has recently submitted a minor change notice to the Gold Coast City Council to add a further two apartments, and add another three levels to the building to make it 30 storeys.

The three-bedroom, 262 sqm apartments, just two per floor, will run from the second level to level 22.

From there will be the penthouse collection, five four-bedroom apartments spanning the whole floor and offering 531 sqm each.

There will be a single two-level penthouse crowning the tower, which will have 1,109 sqm and have five bedrooms, five bathrooms, and its own private roof terrace with a plunge pool.

Residents shared amenity will focus around the wellbeing centre, which will feature an infinity pool, sauna, steam and massage rooms, a spa, cold therpay pool, health club, yoga room, a lounge with fireplace, and an outdoor barbecue area.

Deborah Provost, of DP Project Marketing, who will be marketing the apartments, is expecting&nbsp;discerning, lifestyle-seeking downsizers and luxury holiday home buyers.

&ldquo;We believe Drift Residences will set a benchmark for Main Beach that appeals to the luxury downsizer,&rdquo; Provost said.

&ldquo;We believe our market will come predominantly from local and Brisbane downsizers and undoubtedly from interstate markets when the borders re-open.&rdquo;
