Introducing something a little different to West Melbourne, developer Brunswick Group and Six Degrees Architects have created a campus-style community with apartments planned around a central courtyard.
Comprising four buildings and 74 apartments, Hawke and King’s innovative approach sees internal corridors replaced with external walkways that provide cross-ventilation and natural light to all residences. Exteriors are framed by a broad palette of textures, including recycled brick, stone, and timber, forming an outstanding facade that reflects the materiality of the surrounding neighbourhood.
Providing residents with a choice of one, two, and three-bedroom configurations, Hawke and King offers one or two car spaces per residence. Not only will you benefit from the host of walkways and central courtyard, you’ll also have access to a rooftop garden for those times when you want to entertain or relax in style.
With environmental sustainability in mind, Six Degrees has designed interiors that employ eco-friendly materials and project a warm-yet-industrial aesthetic. Some highlights include recycled hardwood floors, recycled red-brick walls, high ceilings in exposed concrete, stone benches, and top-of-the-line Smeg appliances. Other environmentally sustainable features include a food waste system, rainwater tanks, and appliances with a seven-star energy rating.
