The tower stands at LaTrobe Street across from Melbourne’s major retail precinct headed by Melbourne Central, with over 350 retail stores and an entertainment and dining precinct on the upper levels which connect via skybridge to Emporium Shopping Centre with over 200 retail stores anchored by premium clothing brands such as Uniqlo and leading Australian department stores, Myer and David Jones.
Diagonally across from Aurora is the Melbourne State Library, Australia’s oldest public library and one of the first free libraries in the World which is surrounded by the University precinct of RMIT where educational facilities, quirky cafes and bars service the over 40,000 daily students that attend this area of the CBD.
The northern Central Business District has seen some unprecedented urban renewal and development over the past 5 years with over 20,000 new properties and apartments built in that time turning the sleepy, underutilised corner into a vibrant and cultural hub of activity that connects the city back to the iconic Queen Victoria Market and Flagstaff Gardens.

The LED colours change dramatically in pattern and are connected to a programmed light management system. The facade fin elements are strategically positioned and designed to reduce overlooking between apartments.
Aurora Melbourne Central is truly one of the most dynamic and architecturally gifted skyscrapers in Melbourne and possible Australia and has already made its mark on the city skyline.
